Last year, Grace embarked on our biggest event ever, with Easter at Eola. This year, we're doing it again, and it promises, once again, to be the biggest event ever. This is awesome because it means that God is moving, growing, challenging us as a church. The only way this event will be a success is through the presence of God over everything.
We are collecting almost twice the amount of groceries as a church as we did last year--which means that at least that many more of those struggling with poverty are going to have a tangible hand up. Thank you, church, for the sacrifices you have made to bring in those groceries--we have been so energized by your generosity. The best is yet to come! Mike is going to have a not-so-little announcement on Sunday that relates to the food drive--you will not want to miss it!
My role is helping Shannon and Heather, as well as Dave Fox, who are coordinating all aspects of the event outside of the worship service itself, which is being masterminded by Chad, Pastor Mike, and Kelly. I am gathering equipment, taking care of logistics, and driving the truck.
We are SO thankful for the involvement of the
Destiny Foundation. They are going to be there again this year, assisting us with handing out the groceries we've collected, and offering a number of services that will be highly effective in helping out people who are in dire need right now--hundreds of them!
What each of you can do to help with Easter:
1. PRAY
2. PRAY
3. PRAY
4. Not discount 1-3 as givens. Really seek God and ask for an abundance, ask for life change, ask for protection for all those involved. Ask that thousands of people would come out ready to be challenged with the news that we are lost without Jesus, but he offers abundant life to all who surrender to Him.
5. Volunteer on a team: Many of you have stepped forward already. Thank you! We are so excited, and glad to have you making this happen. We still need more. If you can double up on teams, do it!
6. Bring your groceries to the church this Sunday! We will be loading up cars, so you can leave them behind your car as long as it isn't raining, or bring them to the doors and we'll load them in for you!
